Process mining is a method for analysing and optimising business processes. Detailed information about the actual processes in a company is obtained from data stored in IT systems (e.g. log files). Process mining combines methods from the fields of data mining and business process management in order to analyse and improve both the efficiency and compliance of business processes. Process mining is used to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and deviations from the planned standard process.
