Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer’s 85th Birthday: Ideas for the Future

To mark the 85th birthday of Prof. Dr. August-Wilhelm Scheer, representatives from academia, business and politics came together in Saarbrücken at the invitation of the Scheer companies.
The evening focused on the exchange of ideas around innovation, entrepreneurship, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, as well as the question of how knowledge and technology transfer can succeed in the years ahead. Alongside Prof. Scheer, participants included Minister-President Anke Rehlinger, Ministers Reinhold Jost and Jürgen Barke, Karl-Heinz Streibich, and renowned researchers.
The event made one thing clear: the connection between academic research and entrepreneurial practice, which Prof. Scheer has championed for decades, remains an important basis for addressing tomorrow’s challenges.
