Customer Description

From its beginnings as a small shop in 1910, dodenhof has evolved into northern Germany‘s largest shopping center, boasting over 125,000 m² of sales floor space in Posthausen, Lower Saxony. The company has expanded further with a second location situated in Kaltenkirchen near Hamburg. As the 4th generation of the dodenhof family, the company has always been committed to the needs of its visitors throughout its long retail tradition. This commitment has led to a fascinating range of products across the dodenhof shopping worlds, ranging from fashion to sport and technology to gourmet items.

Challenges

  • Outdated, extremely heterogeneous application landscape
  • Insufficiently documented point-topoint connections
  • Lack of standardization in the ERP environment
Case Study | dodenhof

Up to 70% time savings in integration of new IT systems

The largest shopping center in northern Germany has been using Scheer PAS for the flexible and agile management of its IT landscape since 2014.  Over time, the company has reached a degree of integration that is leading in retail. Scheer PAS serves as the central architectural element that ensures dodenhof's agility and offers maximum flexibility for future challenges.

Scheer PAS Solution

IT Modernization without risks

By allowing both legacy and new systems to be accessed via a common interface in parallel, the correct functioning of all components could be extensively tested using what are known as double transactions.

Our misssion was to enable dodenhof to integrate all their IT systems (new or legacy) without the risk of a big bang modernization and to reduce the downtime between the shutdown of the old system and the installation of a new application.
